Project overview
Four CGI product films for NEO covered the 3B-78 hob, Copper+ and RO water purifiers, and Ace chimney. Each film moves from close product detail to a hero shot in context, and each closes on the NEO Quality Living end card. The hob and Copper+ films are shown in full below, with stills from the RO and Ace films after them.
The films
Detail first, then the room

Also in the series: NEO RO and NEO Ace
The RO water purifier film runs 44 seconds and the Ace chimney film 25 seconds, with the same structure: close detail first, then the product in a room, then the end card.

Creative challenge
Show what is inside and what is on show
The hob is black glass with brass and steel burners. The film has to show the burner, the glass panel and the knobs while the reflections stay under control, then place the hob in a kitchen where it reads at a glance.
The purifier's story sits behind its casing. The film opens on the filter stack and its cartridges, then pulls back to the finished wall-mounted unit so the mechanism and the product are seen together.
Design & technical approach
Previewed, rendered, composited
1 · Camera previews
Each camera move was planned in 3ds Max and checked in the viewport before rendering. Previews were supplied for the Copper+ purifier (four cameras) and the hob (four cameras). The previews below show the meshes the renders were built on.

2 · Render
I rendered the scenes in V-Ray 5, building the brass, black glass and steel as separate materials. Frames came out as PNG sequences, one per camera, ready for compositing.
3 · Composite and master
I brought the camera sequences and wireframe previews into After Effects, then cut the shots together with dissolves, product captions, the end card and a music track. The films were exported at 1920 × 1080 and 25 fps.
